Well, here I am at the start. Introductions are often difficult; it's just hard to pick a point to begin. I suppose I should begin with the basics!
My name is Shannon and I'm 27 years old. I'm originally from just outside of Manchester in England. I'm currently in the last week of BA degree, majoring in Anthropology (which I love) at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. I have never kept a personal blog before, though I have started numerous failed diaries and keep an academic blog where I post all of my essays relating to my anthropology degree. I decided to start this one as I have many friends and acquaintances (real and internet) who share many of the same interests as me, one of which being travel. I enjoy reading peoples travels stories and getting glimpses of their lives, and so I thought I would share some of my experiences, goals, dreams and life with you all.
I thought I would begin now since I am a day or so away from making a trip home to England, it is a much needed journey after a difficult year, culminating in the death of my father just before Christmas. Needless to say, I am ready to go home and relax and not thin about university, life or responsibilities for a little while. I know many of you share similar interests to me (anthropology, culture, history etc). I know many of you are big fans of the UK as well and I know many of you love to travel just as much as I do, so thought you might want to embark on the journey with me!
